PASSHE Faculty Opportunities
Introducing BRIDGE: Building Re-Imagined Instructional Design for Growth & Employability.
The PASSHE Foundation is issuing two Request for Proposals (RFP) to support faculty-led innovations that integrate Work-Based Learning and/or Industry Recognized Credentials into academic courses across disciplines.
We invite submissions that create opportunities for students to engage with real-world problems, apply their skills in authentic contexts, build connections that enhance their academic and professional journeys and earn industry-recognized credentials to enhance their employability.
Background
Part of PASSHE’s public mission is “to prepare students at the undergraduate and graduate levels for professional and personal success in their lives.” To help that preparation, The PASSHE Foundation is delighted to offer course innovation and enhancement funding opportunities to integrate sustainable and applied learning content, created with an employer or community partner, into academic courses through Work-Based Learning (WBL) OR for integrating Industry Recognized Credentials (IRC) into academic courses. To ensure broad impact, funded projects will be shared across PASSHE institutions, offering inspiration and resources to other faculty members.
Faculty may submit a proposal for possible funding under two categories:
Work-Based Learning – open only to faculty at one of the five WBL pilot schools
Work-Based Learning Signature Project ($5,000) - A major applied project woven throughout the course.
Work-Based Learning Single Assignment ($2,500) - A meaningful, standalone assignment or module linked to a real-world application.
The universities participating in the WBL pilot program are Cheyney, Commonwealth, East Stroudsburg, Shippensburg, and Slippery Rock Universities
Industry Recognized Credential – open to faculty at all PASSHE schools
Industry Recognized Credential Full Credential ($5,000) - The course provides full preparation (i.e. completion of all the IRC’s learning modules) for the identified IRC as indicated by the IRC’s dashboard.
Industry Recognized Credential Significant Component ($2,500) - The course provides 75% preparation (i.e. completion of 75% of the IRC’s learning modules) for the identified IRC as indicated by the IRC’s dashboard.
